Security Dog (Patrol)

Objectives
To produce a handler who is proficient and safe in the management of a security dog, with a basic understanding of the law as to the use of the duty dog.

Content
The manner in which a security dog is handled and the basic moves, Heel. Sit, Down, Stay, Come and Leave. The correct methods of transporting a security dog safely in the public arena. Grooming and basic first aid. An understanding of canine nutrition. Correct and accurate record keeping and remedial training. Housing a security dog.

Duration
The course duration is 80 hours (60 hours practical and 20 hours theory).

Certification on completion.
